Pumpkin Patch in Michigan

We went to the pumpkin patch in Michigan with Pam and Honey. It was so much fun. I got to ride a pony, ride the pumpkin train, pet some really nice animals, eat pumpkin donuts (Oh wait we got to smell them, they ran out) and go on a hayride with Honey to the pumpkin patch where I picked the perfect pumpkin. It was a great time and I am so glad Pam and Honey came.

Fun Times With Friends

I was very lucky last week and was able to get together and play with my friends Ella and Kyler. They are both fun and it was great to see them.

Another Visit with my Aunties

Auntie Mary and Auntie Sarah came to visit me and as always we had a good time. We went to Navy FEAR. We all went on the haunted train ride and I saw lots of scay guys. Auntie Sarah took me on a big slide and through the scay haunted house.

My Mini B-day Party

On my birthday, Tata, Cameron, Mommy and Daddy took me out for a night out on the town to Chuck E Cheese. I ate cake and pizza and played lots of games. It was so much fun and I am still talking about it two weeks later.

Happy 2nd Birthday Gavin!

My sweet peanut, you are now two years old. The last year has been filled with as much joy and more as the first. You are growing and changing so fast. .

My crawling tiny tot has merged with a wee sophisticate, who marches around the house proud and full of giggles. You are now talking so much and though I cannot understand all of what you are saying, I know you are trying to use your strong- willed negotiating skills to talk me into another cookie or Thomas movie. I have to appreciate these skills as I know you learned them from me! The food that was once a part of your face is now part of the floor and walls. My hummus and avocado eating, milk drinking baby has transformed into a hotdog, bacon, chicken, chocolate milk, snack devouring hound. The dents in our walls, skid marks on the floor and all of your bumps and bruises are evidence that my stationary wee one is now a jumping, running, bouncing tot. And although it may seem sometimes my job as your mom is never done and I am chronically exhausted, it is more than worth it when I receive my hourly hugs and kisses.

In the last year I have changed as well from a stubborn parent to one who has come to peace with vast quantities of cookies and chips, you calling your daddy “Hans”, slime on the windows and floors, Elmo, the notorious “no” word, the constant haunting of cartoon songs stuck in my head, the morning rituals of changing your breakfast beverage choice from milk to juice to milk to juice to milk to juice and the grand finale of kicking and screaming at both. I have accepted that the kitchen is now permanently covered from top to bottom in chocolate milk and soggy chips and cookies. I know that when we sit down to eat a restaurant the ear piercing shrieks will begin. I have learned to accept these things and I am now much more humble.

Though I have had to learn how to be at peace with your unique nature, I appreciate and love many things about you. I love how you are enchanted by life and everything around you. The unforgettable look on your face and your loud exclamations of “WOW” when you see a pumpkin or scay guy. I appreciate and embrace how creative, independent and individualized you have become. I love how you think it is fun to wear your last year’s shark costume outside to go for walks. I can’t get enough of your silliness, tricks and laughs. You make me laugh so hard that I need a diaper. I crave your beaming face in the morning, tiny snores at night and look forward to the many hugs and kisses I will receive through out the day and night. I secretly love it when you say “up peez”, “Ah milk peez”, “Oh damn it mommy”, “boom booms now!” and “daddy go?” I am thrilled that you still want to have dance parties with me and even though you demand to hear certain songs in the car over and over and over again I appreciate how much you love your music and have names for all of your favorite tunes. You are unique, silly, and an amazing little person

I look through pictures of our past year wistfully imagining what the years to come will bring, knowing it will bring as much gratification and happiness as the last. I love you so much and look forward to all of the years to come.

Love,

Mommy

No Time for Rest

These days life has been crazy. Of course it has been full of fun too. With visits to the pumpkin patch, Spanish class, soccer, play dates, doing good deeds and helping Tata move in, the days seem to fly by.This is my pumpkin that I picked out. I love the "apple patch". I love pumpkin donuts. YUMMMY! We ate about 12 of them. I finally got a chance to play with my friend Griffin. We had a great time. I helped Tata move into her new place. I am a great help. On Fridays I get to play with my good friend Ethan. Mommy, Daddy and I made and served food for a homeless shelter. Krystal came too to keep an eye on me. Mommy and Daddy said I am a lucky boy and need to give my time to people and animals that are not as fortunate. Daddy and Mommy made some good food. Here I am at soccer. Check out my moves. I love being number 6!! Goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
