OBAMA

Even though we were amongst several people in Grant Park to see Barack Obama become the next President of the US, we felt very fortunate to be part of history. The emotions that were floating around were incredible. Everyone was so positive and they were there for the same reason. It sounds dumb, but everyone was on the same page; we all were hoping for a change and a good change. When it was announced that indeed Obama was going to be our next leader, chills went through my whole body and a tear filled my eye and as I looked around I realized that most of everyone one around me felt the exact same way. The city was completely silent when our respected next President gave his acceptance speech. His voice echoed throughout the city. It was like something I have never experienced before. Words cannot describe how amazing that night was - a night that we will never forget.
PS-The "USA" building is right next to our house! I heard it was in Time.

O-BAAA-MAAAA!

We are so jealous--that was probably a once-in-a-life-time experience. Although I like to think that future elections will be this positively energized, I can't imagine it.

We heard fireworks here after they projected Him the winner and watched as the streets of Seattle filled with joyous crowds of harmonious people.

It was incredible.

Oh and, I remember seeing the 'USA' building on TV.

Better late than never commenting happening here! I second everything my husband said, what an amazing experience. I would have given anything to have been a part of it all, but this new kid prevented us from flying in for the occasion. I will be able to tell Lucy that her first ever outing was to go help her mom cast a vote for Obama, so that is something!
